I am a candidate standing in the Leek South election on 1st May 2025. I’m standing for the first time, purely on the basis that I genuinely wish to make a difference for the people of Leek and will work hard to achieve that. I love Leek and the Staffordshire Moorlands and I’m proud to call it my home. I’m a school governor in the area and I practice as a Family Law Barrister, almost exclusively in Staffordshire, assisting people from all walks of life, including vulnerable families and children in the care system. From working directly with many local people I know the difficulties faced on a day to day basis, and what improvements we should try and make to benefit the community as a whole. I do not agree with joining Stoke / the idea of a Staffordshire unitary authority. It would, in my view, detract from the ability to focus interest and resources on issues which are directly relevant to Leek and the Moorlands. If you vote for me I will work hard to represent you to the best of my ability and to try and address as effectively as possible the many issues of concern, particularly around our roads and public services.
